Nationally Accredited Training


The Centre for Excellence in Rail Training (CERT) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is authorised through the Training Accreditation Council Western Australia (TAC WA) to provide accredited training nationally.

CERT is registered to deliver Nationally Endorsed Qualifications that includes:

  • Certificate 0 – III in Security Operations
  • Certificate 0 – IV in Transport Logistics (Rail Operations)
  • Certificate 0 – IV in Transport Logistics (Rail Infrastructure)
  • Certificate 0 – IV in Logistics Operations

CERT delivers complete qualifications or specified units of competence to meet individual client needs. Specific units can be aligned to meet identified job role functions.

Units of competence from the Transport and Logistics Training Package can include:

  • Handling Cargo/Stock
  • Equipment Checking and Maintenance
  • Load Handling
  • Undertake track ballast activities
  • Visually inspect and monitor track
  • Record and analyse track parameters
  • Maintain track geometry
  • Operate under track protection rules
  • Customer Service
  • Licensing Units
  • Environment
  • Coordinate And Manage Track Protection
  • Install And Construct Points And Crossings
  • Drive a train to operation requirements and safeworking rules and regulations
  • Train examination
  • Handle Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Substances

Units of competence from the Certificate 0-III of Security Operations (Property Services Training Package) can include:

  • Respond to security risk situation
  • Provide security services to clients
  • Operate basic security equipment
  • Patrol premises
  • Coordinate a quality security service to clients
  • Maintain security of environment
  • Control persons using baton
  • Restrain persons using handcuffs
  • Conduct surveillance
  • Provide quality investigative services to clients
  • Occupational Health and Safety systems
  • Use communication systems
  • Cross cultural awareness
  • Customer service skills
  • Plan and conduct evacuation of premises
  • Emergency management
